Exemption of Visas

Visas are not required for entry into Japan in several coutries. See the list of countries and regions that have visa exemption arrangements with Japan (60 countries and regions as of April 2011) in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Visa application

For the people who need visa application to Japan, the local committee prepares "Documents provided from Japan" (refer to MOFA guidelines or Japanese page). Please submit your personal information through our Registration page. The flow of application is below:

(1) Submit your infomation

  1. Log in the Registration page (fill in email address & your passward).
  2. Select "If your need visa application document issued by our committee", click "GO" link.
  3. Modify personal data and click "update" button
  4. Download the itinerary table by link. Then fill in your travel plan (in Excel file).
  5. Upload your itinerary table and click "submit" button.
  6. Click another "submit" button on the bottom.

Then, the local committee will prepare and send out necessary documents.

(2) Receive necessary documents by postal mail.

A visa applicant needs to prepare identification documents other than a passport and supporting documents.

(3) Go to Japanese embassy.

When all documents are ready, applicant may submit an application for visa at the Japanese embassy/consulate-general with jurisdiction over the place of residence of the applicant (The application cannot be done in Japan).
